You have got to see this home which belongs to Suze of Dwellers without Decorators. It’s gorgeous. I can’t even believe all of these beautiful rooms belong to the same house…or apartment I guess. As I scrolled down I just kept saying, “i LOVE this room. no, i think i love this one even more!” I found myself wanting to pin every single picture. Oh yea, that’s a whole different post. Are you on pinterest? If you’re not then you are totally missing out. It’s basically a site where you can store, share and organize all of your favorite pictures, ideas, etc… that you find online. I’m putting all pictures from this house into my “home inspiration” board on pinterest.

easter weekend

Hi! How was your Easter weekend? Ours was filled with delicious food, way too many jelly beans and family fun! I’m exhausted.

I don’t usually decorate for easter but this year we had my husband’s family over and so I wanted to attempt a few pops of easter. In true Abby fashion I waited until the morning of to think of some little easter touch. I added bright-colored ribbon to our front pots. I know. Wow. Amazing. Genius, huh? (see my amazing idea below)

What do you all do for Easter decor? Anything simple & easy I should stash away in my file for next year?

And by the way…happy Easter from my sweet little Bunny!

spring pot

Every year at this time I struggle to come up with something to put in place of evergreens in our pots. It’s definitely time for the winter greens to go but it’s not quite warm enough in Minnesota to plant anything — you can, but there aren’t many options right now and there is still a good chance that it can get below freezing some nights. So, what do we do for these weeks or couple of months in-between seasons? Well, here’s what I did this year, quince branches and mood moss. It’s simple, fresh, and won’t break the bank so it’s a perfect option for your pots for these next 6 weeks or so. You could also use any other flower branch or pussy willow in place of the quince.

Happy Potting. Anyone have plans for what they will plant when the weather warms up? I’m thinking all green in mine this year but then again I think I head that direction ever year and when it comes down to it I am so ready for some bright color!

rosewater toner

I’m sharing this DIY rosewater toner post with you for many reasons.
1. Elizabeth Dehn of Beauty Bets is the bee’s knees. She knows her shtuff!
2. It sounds luxurious, fresh and lovely. Perfect way to kick off spring.
3. You can make it yourself – easy.
4. I found it fitting to post about since it calls for fresh flowers, rose petals to be exact.

I haven’t made this yet but I plan to. Now, if only I could find the perfect little glass bottle.

ROSEWATER TONER

2 cups of fresh-picked rose petals
2 1/4 cups distilled water
1/4 cup witch hazel (optional)

1. Place petals in a pot and pour distilled water over to cover.
2. Bring to a boil then immediately turn off the heat.
3. Remove pot from burner and cover. Let sit to cool, for about an hour.
4. Strain rosewater into a sterile container or spray bottle.
5. If your skin is combination or oily, add the witch hazel.

Rosewater is naturally clarifying, tightens pores and reduces redness. To use, moisten a cotton ball with the rosewater and swipe over clean skin before moisturizing. For a little more luxury, add the rosewater to a hot bath. This toner will keep for five days at room temperature, or two weeks in the fridge.
