home inspiration

You have got to see this home which belongs to Suze of Dwellers without Decorators. It’s gorgeous. I can’t even believe all of these beautiful rooms belong to the same house…or apartment I guess. As I scrolled down I just kept saying, “i LOVE this room. no, i think i love this one even more!” I found myself wanting to pin every single picture. Oh yea, that’s a whole different post. Are you on pinterest? If you’re not then you are totally missing out. It’s basically a site where you can store, share and organize all of your favorite pictures, ideas, etc… that you find online. I’m putting all pictures from this house into my “home inspiration” board on pinterest.

I am completely, totally, seriously obsessed with this room. Apartment Therapy never disappoints. All I have to do is browse the site quickly and I am inspired, excited and ready to create, design and usually re-decorate!

Every detail about this room is adorable but what I have added to my “need to do someday” list is this wall of books. It’s brilliant.

Oh and one little thing about this picture that made me laugh was the vase of flowers on the side table. Who seriously keeps a vase of flowers at that level in a baby’s room?

I saw this adorable pink party on Twig & Thistle and I feel in love with the fake fire.

So I made my own. It’s cozy! It does the trick for now. I love having a fireplace but, for more than one reason, don’t want to have a real fire burning! Problem solved and it’s cute.

I love holiday cards. Don’t you? It’s so fun to get cute, updated pictures and cards in the mail this time of year. In the past I have kept them all in a stack somewhere and I just hate that. I want to enjoy those adorable pictures of close family and friends. As usual, Martha comes to the rescue. I picked up the latest Martha Stewart Magazine and she had the answer for me. A card wreath! So simple – a bow, an embroidery hoop, glue & closepins. Voila! Adorable, functional, holiday decor! Click here for directions! Quick note: Martha used a 14inch embroidery hoop but those were $16 at Michaels and the 12inch hoops were like $1.50 so I opted for 2 – 12inch rings. I’m expecting lots of cards this year.

In case my unfinished and pretty empty wreath doesn’t inspire you…maybe a picture of Martha’s will.

I was on the hunt for a new area rug last month. How in the world did I miss this one? It’s $97 for a 5×7 which makes it that much more lovely. It’s hard to find stylish, reasonable area rugs. If you’re on the hunt you should check out the Martha Stewart line on Home Decorators Collection.
