We had a nice Labor Day weekend! A good mix of productive and relaxing.

Bo spent the day with his dad…

…while I worked on centerpiece mock-ups.

We took Bo to Pottery Barn Kids to “play” with their cool toys! Should I feel bad this is the second time I have taken him there in a week? They might start charging me admission. He loves it.

Oh, and we made dairy free cupcakes. A trial run for Bo’s 1st birthday celebration. They were delicious!

Did you have a nice weekend? Do anything fun?

One of the biggest wedding trends seems to be the color combo of black, white and green! I love this combination because you can go so many different directions with it and you have so many options for linens, floral, decor, desserts etc… And, we all know that dessert tables are so hot right now that they are practically expected at weddings. The queen of dessert tables, Amy Atlas, just posted a link to this blog feature on her twitter and I wanted to share it with you and send you to her blog for some great eye candy and inspiration. I love how Sandra of Sandra Downie Events used curtains as the backdrop for the dessert table…in fact I think I may have those same Target damask curtains in my living room! Love ’em!

So, my brother in-law pulled off an almost completely successful surprise party lastnight. It was a 30th birthday party for my sister at the ROLLER RINK! It was hillarious and so much fun. I think that last time I put on rollerskates was a field trip to the rink with my sixth grade class.

Check out how adorable the pull apart cupcake cake was! No cutting – everyone just pulls off their own cupcake. It was so cute.

I would have loved an invite to a wedding like this. Can you imagine how much fun all of their guests had! Not only is this a fabulously creative idea and theme for a wedding but you could use this as inspiration for your next birthday party, summer event etc… The colors are great. The details – perfect! What a great way to celebrate.

OMG – Yum! This looks so delicious. Saw it in a post on hostess with the mostess. I could use a few crackers with brie & honeycomb on them! I have never thought to combine the two but what a cute treat to have laying out at a party. I love the way this looks. I am sure I would love the way it tastes, too!
